3 day guarantee
Published on 01 January 2026
From January 2026, families receiving the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) will be eligible for a minimum of three days per week of subsidised early learning, regardless of their activity level.
This change is designed to improve access to quality early childhood education and care, ensuring more children can benefit from consistent learning experiences during their formative years.
What does this mean for families?
Under the 3-day guarantee:
-
Eligible families can access up to three days of subsidised care per week
-
The activity test will no longer apply for the first three days
-
Children can experience greater continuity of learning and social development
Why consistency matters
Regular attendance supports children to build secure relationships with educators and peers, strengthening their sense of identity and belonging in line with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). Ongoing participation also supports early literacy, numeracy, social skills and school readiness.
At Kids’ Early Learning, as a Council-owned, not-for-profit provider, we welcome initiatives that increase access to high-quality early childhood education for families in our community.
