We provide a solution for working families

We have partnered with local public schools to deliver trusted care and enriching programs for families requiring care for outside school hours. Children's learning doesn't stop when the school bell rings - with a safe, nurturing environment and trusted professionals, our OSHC services provide families with peace of mind while giving children a welcoming place to belong and thrive beyond the school day.

Supporting children's wellbeing and development

Every part of our OSHC program is thoughtfully designed to complement the school day while supporting children's independence and interests. During the school holidays, our Vacation Care program extends learning beyond the service through exciting excursions, in-service activities and themed experiences that encourage children to explore, discover and build lasting memories. Read more about our educational approach.

Getting ready for OSHC

What to expect at OSHC?

Every day at OSHC is a little different, with children encouraged to relax, play, connect with friends and explore their interests before and after the school day.

Before School Care: Children can enjoy breakfast, settle into the morning and choose from a range of quiet or active experiences before Educators support them to prepare for the school day.

After School Care: Children return to OSHC for afternoon tea and time to unwind. They can choose from active play, STEM, creative experiences, games, group activities and interest-based experiences.

Choice is an important part of OSHC. Children’s ideas and interests help shape our programs, giving them opportunities to have a say in how they spend their time while building friendships, confidence and independence.

What to pack?

Please ensure your child brings:

  • Their packed schoolbag

  • A healthy, nut-free lunch and snacks

  • A labelled drink bottle

  • A hat

  • Any required medication, such as an asthma puffer or EpiPen, together with a current Action Plan

Please clearly label all of your child’s belongings with their name.

Medical conditions and medications

If your child has a specific health care need, allergy or medical condition, please provide full details when enrolling. Families are required to provide a current Medical Management Plan, completed by the child’s doctor or allied health professional, outlining how their needs should be managed. Kids’ Early Learning will work with families to develop a Risk Minimisation Plan and ensure relevant educators are informed of the child’s requirements.

Medication
Children who require prescribed medication cannot attend OSHC without the medication required for their medical condition. Medication must be supplied in its original container, labelled with the child’s name, dosage and administration instructions.

For school-aged children who self-administer medication, parents or guardians must provide the appropriate written authorisation before the child can administer their own medication. Specific arrangements also apply for children managing asthma, diabetes or other ongoing medication.

Allergies
Kids’ Early Learning services are nut free. Families will be advised where an enrolled child has an allergy requiring particular foods or substances not to be brought into the service.

How do I enrol?

To receive CCS:

  • The primary parent or guardian must be the applicant for the subsidy.
  • Your CCS eligibility is determined by Centrelink based on your family's income, activity level (work, study, or training), and type of child care service used.
  • Ensure your Centrelink Reference Number (CRN) is provided when enrolling.
