Children, families and educators at Kids' Early Learning Willmot welcomed their new community garden, made possible through the support of Dalmarri and its recent Community Garden Grant.
More than just a garden, this space has been thoughtfully designed to reconnect children with Country while creating a thriving habitat for local birds, bees and other native wildlife. Featuring Australian native plants with cultural significance, the garden provides meaningful opportunities for children to develop an appreciation for the environment and the rich knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
As the garden grows, so too will the children's learning. Families and children will work alongside educators to care for the plants, observe the changing seasons and discover the important role native flora and fauna play in supporting healthy ecosystems. Through nurturing the garden together, children will develop a sense of responsibility and connection to the land. We extend our sincere thanks to Dalmarri for their ongoing partnership and generosity in bringing this vision to life. Initiatives like these strengthen our connection with community while creating lasting opportunities for children to learn, care and grow together.
